Yohanashi

A space for stories, reflection, and presence

Rooted in the Japanese words yohaku (余白), meaning the space in between, and hanashi (話), meaning story or conversation, the name grew from a simple idea: that sometimes we need a place to pause and be with what we are carrying.

The space in between is often where untold stories live.
These are the parts we don’t always share with others, and sometimes haven’t yet named for ourselves.

At Yohanashi, there is no need to rush, fix, or explain. What matters is making room for what is present, even if it is unclear or still unfolding.

Based in Tokyo, Yohanashi offers online counselling sessions and face-to-face workshops. Some people come to talk things through. Others come to listen, reflect, or create.

Each offering is shaped to meet people where they are, without expectation or pressure.

Through conversation, journaling, creative practices, and quiet reflection, Yohanashi invites you to spend time with the in-between.

Healing here is not something to pursue or achieve.
It emerges through being met with care, and through having your story received as it is.

I’ve learned that everyone carries stories, some spoken and some hidden.

Often, it’s the unspoken ones that hold the most weight.

Yohanashi is a space for those quieter stories, so they don’t have to be carried alone.

Meet the Founder

Quiet by nature, curious by heart

I often notice how much the small, ordinary things shape my days, walking quietly in the early morning, enjoying a good cup of coffee, or singing karaoke with friends until the night feels lighter.

When I can, I love exploring new restaurants or taking short trips to the countryside, where time slows and I can breathe a little differently. These simple rhythms remind me that life is not only carried by milestones or achievements, but by how we live in the quieter spaces between them.

The same is true in my work. I hold one-to-one sessions that are not about advice or quick solutions, but about offering steady space for reflection and growth. Some people come because they feel tired or disconnected, others because they want to build confidence, navigate a transition, or simply have a place where their story can be heard without judgment.

In Yohanashi and Yumemi sessions, we always move at your pace. I listen closely, ask questions that open new perspectives, and bring in reflective or creative practices when they feel useful.

This may include guided meditation, journaling, visualization, or simple tools that help gently bring forward what is already within you. The sessions are collaborative, gentle, and shaped by your needs in the moment.

My role is not to lead from ahead, but to walk alongside you with curiosity and care. Together we create a space that feels safe and supportive, where you can reconnect with yourself and leave with a little more clarity, confidence, and ease.
