Community Programs
Yohanashi’s community programs offer gentle spaces where people of different ages and backgrounds can gather.
From students beginning to explore their own path to older adults recalling the stories that shaped their lives, each program takes shape in its own way.
Through simple practices of conversation and creativity, these gatherings invite moments of connection and shared understanding.
Mainichi Mymichi
Mainichi Mymichi is a program for high school and university students. It offers a supportive environment where young people can explore questions of identity, relationships, and future direction, while also learning how to express themselves and listen to others.
The aim is to provide tools for self-awareness and confidence-building, while cultivating a sense of belonging.
The workshops bring together three threads: independent reflection, dialogue with peers, and creative expression.
Participants might journal about themes that matter to them, create visual collages or story maps, or join guided conversations that open space for different perspectives.
These activities are not about grades or achievement, but about creating moments where students can pause, notice, and give voice to their experiences.
By combining reflection, creativity, and dialogue, the program supports young people in developing emotional literacy, communication skills, and a stronger sense of self.
Omoide Cafe
Omoide Café is a program for older adults, created as a space to reflect on life stories, honour memories, and connect with others through creativity and conversation.
It recognises that every person carries experiences of value, and that sharing them can strengthen both personal wellbeing and community connection. The program seeks to affirm dignity, celebrate resilience, and offer companionship through the act of storytelling.
Each workshop is structured around guided reflection prompts, creative practices, and small-group dialogue. Participants may be invited to recall a season of life, a turning point, or a cherished everyday moment.
These reflections can then be expressed through simple creative forms such as painting, clay modelling, or paper craft, before being shared in conversation with others.
The emphasis is not on the artistic product but on the process of remembering, expressing, and connecting.
By holding space for stories in multiple forms, Omoide Café fosters connection across individuals and generations.
Tanebi
Tanebi is a workshop series for adults, created as a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves during everyday life. It recognises that periods of change or uncertainty do not always need answers, but often benefit from time and space to notice what is present.
The workshops offer a calm environment where participants can step out of routine and spend time with their thoughts in a simple, grounded way.
Each workshop is structured around light reflection prompts, creative activities, and shared conversation. Participants may work with writing, images, or simple materials to explore a theme, before joining small-group dialogue if they wish. The focus is not on interpretation or outcomes, but on the experience of slowing down and paying attention.
By bringing together reflection, creativity, and conversation, Tanebi supports clarity, steadiness, and a renewed sense of perspective that participants can carry back into daily life.
